Did you ever sell sex ?
Your e mails answering 'DID YOU EVER SELL SEX ?'
Dear John: I have read your newsletter for 2 years and recently watched your YouTube channel about how you became a prostitute, and I have a few comments.
I admire the fact you seemed to keep your head together throughout your time as a sex worker.
I was 3 years a rent boy in Piccadilly and then 4 years working in my own flat in Earls Court ( Girls Court...) and while I made a lot of money it did fuck me up.
When I became HIV Positive I quit being a prostitute and came home to Liverpool and got a 'normal job' working in Tesco. It was a banal boring job, stacking shelves throughout the night, but it helped me get my head together - having a routine, knowing exactly how much I was earning each week and not having the pressure of worrying about being busted by the police / vice squad - or being beaten up by a client - or being conned - and working in the real world helped me get it together.
It was the clients who messed with my head, not the sex - but the resentful fucked up clients playing with my head and that was why I had to leave the business.
I admire what you have done since leaving the industry and follow you each week with admiration.
Mark.

Dear John. You recently asked if any of your readers had worked in the sex industry and many moons ago I did.
The Earls Court Clinique. A brothel in Earls Court and it was awful. I lasted about 6 weeks as the clientele, the other guys and even the people who ran the place were all so down market and so many were real low life and I always knew there must have been a better side to the business, a more upmarket side - and then I met you.
You won't remember me but I interviewed for your agency '30PLUS' way back in the late '80's and worked on your agency for a couple of years. Good money flowed and I never had a bad client, bad experience or negative attitude from anyone you ever sent me to - and I always felt clean and decent after each appointment whereas at the Earls Court Clinique, dear GOD John, did I feel dirty and horrible after each and every 'punter.' I quit the business when I met a lover who was a client you had sent me to see and I do remember when I told you I was quitting, and that it was to be the lover of a client you had sent me to, you were very pleased for me.
I always remember you with great affection and how kind you were.
Jeremy

What happens after a man has sex ?
He reaches for a towel, a cigarette and then a charge card before leaving and going home.
I sold my body for money a few times. It was decades ago and I had actually forgotten all about that period in my life.
I had just been thrown out by my family when they found out I was gay and I ran to London to escape another beating at the hands of my step dad - and fell in with a group of guys in Piccadilly Circus and became a ' Dilly Boy' - cruising for punters under Eros. I knew it was tacky and I knew it was dangerous but it was what it was and I never thought there would be a more decent way of doing things. I earned good money while I looked for a bar job and eventually worked in The Vauxhall Tavern and was there for some years. I quite selling sex as soon as I could and never looked back, it was only when I found your web site and Hamilton Hall that I was reminded. Well done you for managing decades of sex work and staying negative and more importantly, you kept your head together.

I think selling sex is appalling. You should have given it away for free.
( this anonymous comment shows exactly how many stupid people there are out there who really haven't a fucking clue. Gormless fool. )

Men and women of all shapes and sizes sell sex and there is no such thing as a typical sex worker just as there is no such thing as a typical punter / client either as EVERY man or women is a typical client. All ages, all shapes and sizes and a LOT of my clients were HOT HOT HOT ...
Dear John - I have paid for sex . Many times. I kept a budget especially for my monthly trip to see a different sex worker as it was so much easier than having a boyfriend or searching the bars and web sites for sex that disappoints. It is easy, on time, when I want it and what I want.
And why not !

-Dear John: I have paid for sex for decades. My wife and I have an agreement and while she doesn't know it is male escorts I see, she knows I pay for sex once a month and it has kept us together. She is like a fridge sexually and it is any wonder how we ever had kids. We talked decades ago and set up this arrangement that I would discretely see other people but it was never to be a romantic thing - just sex - and it has worked very well over the years. Sure I have met some pretty tacky guys who offer an appalling service but I have also met some decent ones who offer something a little more pleasant and I admire these guys for what they do as it cannot be easy. Sex workers have kept my family together.

I saw a prostitute years ago., Stole my wallet and credit cards. Met him at Piccadilly Circus and I suppose, what was I expecting. He was as much a victim as I was.

I was beaten up by a prostitute because I refused to pay. I learned a serious lesson that day - not to fuck with a rent boy. Not as in sexually fuck, but don't mess with ... and looking back he was right and I with my arrogance of assuming he would do me for free because I considered myself cute, I overlooked this was his business, his rent, his food that night and his job. I deserved everything I got.

I worked in the sex industry and even did porn. earned a lot of money and spent the fucking lot. Drugs, expensive clothes, parties, fast car and showing off to my fiends and - er - where are the friends when the money dries up... NOWHERE TO BE FUCKING SEEN JOHN, and after nearly 10 years in the business I had nothing to show for it at all. You bought a flat, I had a council flat and never bought, so just spent my money and BIG MISTAKE. Going back into the ' real world' or a normal job was so hard and seemed so underpaid but it was the best thing I did after so many years. I escaped while the going was good and as I knew I needed out.
Tony.
