Good news from Aldi

With almost 1,000 Aldi stores now open in the UK, and over 200 stores offering our Click and Collect service, we’ve made the difficult decision to stop selling wine and spirits on our website for home delivery in the coming weeks.

When a customer of Hamilton Hall died in our front lounge floor from strangulation last October 2022 - brought on by falling while so drunk he was unconscious and strangled himself - the whole problem was

HE GOT ALCOHOL DELIVERED TO THE HOTEL WITHOUT EVEN HAVING TO GO OUT AND BUY IT FROM A SHOP.

I WAS UTTERLY DISGUSTED WHEN I FOUND THIS OUT

UTTERLY DISGUSTED.

With alcohol out of control in this country and with more and more dying each year from alcohol abuse, where families are destroyed, business closed and children carrying that trauma with them - is it any wonder when you can get it delivered to your door at any time of the day and night and you don't even have to go out in order to get your daily fix ?

I was so pleased - and about time - Aldi announced they will no longer offer wine and alcohol through the web site for home delivery and good for them. I assume this will cost them considerably but I take my hat off to them, for as you should already know., Lidl and Aldi do not sell cigarettes' either and never have as the original owner was a non smoker... and stuck true to his aims of never selling fags. Now the time has come for alcohol to be restricted just as the government was to phase our petrol and diesel cars, so they should be fading out the sale of alcohol as it kills tens of thousands every year way above the numbers for all illegal drugs put together.

FACT.

The government complained about the cost to the NHS from smokers while making BILLIONS in tax £ from smokers and the cost to the NHS is TINY compared to the taxes raised - and the same goes for petrol / diesel car drivers who the government are trying to make ' the evil ones' for simply driving their car as we have been told to do for scores of decades and if and when the government changes its mind, suddenly the people are the enemy to be hunted down and prosecuted and this madness never extends to alcohol while being a deadly drug.

The double standards here are phenomenal.
